Therapeutic indications Cefalexin Treatment of the following infections due to susceptible microorganisms: respiratory tract infections, otitis media, skin and subcutaneous tissue infections, urinary tract infections (including acute prostatitis) and dental infections. Mechanism of action Cefalexin Semi-synthetic antibiotic of the cephalosporin family, for oral administration. As demonstrated by in vitro tests, the bactericidal action of cephalosporins is due to the inhibition of cell wall synthesis.

Ciprofloxacin is used to treat or prevent certain infections caused by bacteria such as pneumonia; gonorrhea (a sexually transmitted disease); typhoid fever (a serious infection common in developing countries); infectious diarrhea (infections that cause severe diarrhea); and infections of the skin, bones, joints, abdomen (stomach area), and prostate (male reproductive gland). Ciprofloxacin is also used to treat or prevent plague (a serious infection that may be intentionally spread as part of a bioterrorist attack) and inhalation anthrax (a serious infection that anthrax germs may intentionally spread into the air as part of a bioterrorist attack). Ciprofloxacin can also be used to treat bronchitis, sinus infections, or urinary tract infections, but it should not be used for bronchitis or sinus infections, or for some types of urinary tract infections if other treatment options are available. Ciprofloxacin extended-release (long-acting) tablets are used to treat kidney and urinary tract infections; however, some types of urinary tract infections should only be treated with ciprofloxacin extended-release tablets if no other treatment options are available. Ciprofloxacin belongs to a class of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. It works by killing the bacteria that cause infections. Antibiotics like ciprofloxacin do not work for colds, influenza, or other viral infections. Using antibiotics when not needed increases the risk of getting an infection later that may resist antibiotic treatment.

Ciprofloxacin ophthalmic solution is used to treat bacterial eye infections, including conjunctivitis (infection of the membrane that covers the outside of the eyeball and the inside of the eyelid) and corneal ulcers (infection and loss of tissue in the clear front part of the eye). Broad-spectrum bactericidal antibiotic against Gram+ and Gram-, aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. Virtually zero gastrointestinal absorption, concentrating in the intestinal lumen and feces.

Treatment of upper and lower urinary tract infections, including cystitis, pyelitis, and cystopyelitis, caused by susceptible bacteria. It is indicated for infections caused by gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms susceptible to this agent, and is therefore effective in: acute, chronic, and complicated upper and lower urinary tract infections; and not related to: cystitis, pyelitis, cystopyelitis, epididymitis, prostatitis; gastrointestinal infections such as: infectious gastroenteritis, salmonellosis (typhoid fever), and bacillary dysentery.

Levofloxacin belongs to a class of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. It works by killing the bacteria that cause infections. Antibiotics like levofloxacin do not work against colds, influenza, or other viral infections. Therapeutic Indications Levofloxacin Adults, treatment of: pyelonephritis and complicated urinary tract infections, chronic bacterial prostatitis, uncomplicated cystitis, inhalational anthrax (post-exposure treatment and prophylaxis). Treatment, when recommended antibacterials are inappropriate, of: acute bacterial sinusitis, acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, community-acquired pneumonia, complicated skin and soft tissue infections.

Topical neomycin has been used in cases of impetigo, ecthyma, folliculitis, eczema, infected seborrheic dermatitis, infected pressure ulcers and bedsores, minor burns and superficial wounds, episiotomies, varicose ulcers, and nipple cracks that show signs of infection.

Useful in the treatment of upper and lower respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and bone and joint infections. Anti-infectives for systemic use. Antibacterials for systemic use. Beta-lactam antibacterials, penicillins. Penicillin combinations, including beta-lactamase inhibitors. Bactericidal. Blocks bacterial cell wall synthesis and inhibits beta-lactamases. Broad spectrum. Mechanism of action Amoxicillin + clavulanic acid A combination of a semi-synthetic penicillin (bactericidal, broad spectrum) and a beta-lactamase inhibitor makes beta-lactamase-producing bacteria susceptible to amoxicillin.

Ampicillin is used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria, such as meningitis (an infection of the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord) and infections of the throat, sinuses, lungs, reproductive organs, urinary tract, and gastrointestinal tract.

A medication composed of ampicillin, metamizole, guaifenesin, chlorpheniramine, and lidocaine indicated for combating bacterial infections of the upper respiratory tract. It relieves symptoms such as malaise, pain, fever, nasal congestion, and sneezing.

Cefotaxime injection is used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria including pneumonia and other lower respiratory tract (lung) infections; gonorrhea (a sexually transmitted disease); meningitis (infection of the membranes surrounding the brain and spine) and other infections of the brain and spine; and abdominal (stomach area), female reproductive organs, skin, blood, bones, joints, and urinary tract infections. Cefotaxime injection may also be used before surgery, and during and after a cesarean section, to prevent the patient from getting an infection. Cefotaxime injection is in a class of medications called cephalosporin antibiotics. It works by killing bacteria. Antibiotics like cefotaxime injection do not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections. Using antibiotics when they are not needed increases your risk of getting an infection later that will resist antibiotic treatment.

Therapeutic Indications Clindamycin Treatment of the following serious infections caused by susceptible microorganisms: in ADs: community-acquired pneumonia caused by Staphylococcus aureus, aspiration pneumonia, empyema (community-acquired), lung abscess, acute pharyngotonsillitis caused by group A streptococcus (S. pyogenes), odontogenic infections, skin and soft tissue infections (complicated and uncomplicated), osteomyelitis, pneumonia caused by Pneumocystis jiroveci (Pneumocystis carinii) in patients with HIV infection, toxoplasmosis encephalitis in patients with HIV infection. In children > 1 month and < 18 years: acute sinusitis.

Clindamycin injection is used to treat certain types of bacterial infections, including infections of the lungs, skin, blood, bones, joints, female reproductive organs, as well as internal organs.

Clindamycin 1% gel in a 30-gram presentation is a topical antibiotic primarily used to treat mild to moderate acne vulgaris. It works by inhibiting the growth of the bacteria responsible for acne. If discomfort persists, consult your doctor.

Metronidazole is used to treat infections of the reproductive system, gastrointestinal (GI) tract, skin, heart, bones, joints, lungs, blood, nervous system, and other areas of the body. It is also used to treat certain sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
